Line of Flight

Produced by Jacob Love & Tenderpixel Gallery.

Coinciding with his first solo exhibition at Tenderpixel, artist Jacob Love created a limited edition photography book, Line of Flight.

Includes essays by Carina Lopes & Damian Owen-
Board, and an interview with Love by Jessica Farnham.
Numbered and signed by the artist, Edition: 150. Dimensions: 27 X 22 cm

Additional DescriptionMore Details
Love is a British photographer destined to become known for his work that documents a world that never was. Inspired by some of Londonʼs grandest spaces, Loveʼs large format photographs, and vibrant portraits both confuse and console the viewer with images that are visually sumptuous and unnervingly ungrounded. These images remain ambiguous, hovering somewhere between hope and hubris. Steeped in the wonder of infinite possibility they remain aware of the inevitable and painful collapse into the actual. Jacob Love was born in 1980, and studied at University of the West of England and Goldsmiths College, University of London, where he now lectures in photography.

Still Burning by Sally Spinks

Edition of 50, signed and numbered.  Each piece includes eight hand-knit cigarettes and an ashtray.

Additional DescriptionMore Details
Still Burning was produced by Sally Spinks in response to the smoking ban in London: hundreds of cigarette butts discarded, a sight familiar to anyone living in the city, yet upon closer inspection it becomes clear that each one was painstakingly hand knitted. This realization transforms used cigarettes, items that are normally discarded and dirty, into objects that are adorable, even collectible. It is here that desire becomes expressed as comfort; an addictive deadly vice is reduced to a cuddly consequence. This work comes in an edition of 50. Sally Spinks is a recent Masters Graduate of Goldsmiths, University of London (2008) and her practice is dedicated to issues of control and consumerism, and their impact on the changing nature of Britain's class system. She lives and works in London.

Tengu Allstars

These funky creatures have rapidly become part of Mr. Jones’ already well-established and original Tengu product line. The Allstars, according to Mr. Jones, ‘wear their love of music with loud and massive hairstyles’, they also come with a selection of complimentary accessory stickers, to compliment their ‘look’.

Additional DescriptionMore Details
hey live by your computer and react to auditory signal (music, your voice, the dog barking, a telephone – whatever sound they can hear around them). The louder the sound, the more frantically their faces animate. Tengu All Stars connect to the USB port of your computer for energy, they are otherwise very self-sufficient not requiring any additional software on the host machine. They are both Mac and PC compatible. Rotten, Stardust and Woodstock will swing into action inside the Tenderproduct Windowspace and passers by will be invited to watch their collective performance, singing, sleeping, and making amusing Tengu facial expressions. Crispin Jones’ work explores the social impact of new technology. Since 2007 he has focused on the production of his own lines of products. He graduated with an MA in Computer Related Design from the RCA in 2000, since then he has designed for Casio Research, Philips Design and IDEO London. Jones has also worked independently and in partnership (as one half of Robson & Jones) on interactive projects for The BBC, Tate Modern, The V&A and The Science Museum. Alongside the commercial design projects he has produced more experimental works that have been exhibited internationally at Salone Del Mobile, Milan (2005 & 2007), at 100% Design Tokyo (2006), and at the exhibition “Design and the Elastic Mind” at MoMA, New York (2008). Jones has been a prize winner at the Prix Ars Electronica (2002), and the Grand Prize winner at the Japan Media Arts Festival in Tokyo (2003).
